Level 3 Award in First Aid

It covers both theoretical understanding and practical training in first aid procedures such as CPR, AED use, dealing with unconscious casualties, major injuries, and sudden illnesses.

Aim of Level 3 Award in First Aid

The aim of the Level 3 Award in First Aid is to provide learners with the comprehensive knowledge, practical skills, and confidence required to respond effectively to a wide range of first aid emergencies in the workplace or other settings.

This qualification is intended for those who are designated as workplace first aiders or have a duty of care to others, particularly in high-risk environments.

 Age:

  • Learners must be 16 years or older (some providers may set the minimum at 18 depending on the course content or legal requirements).

Physical Ability:

  • Must be physically capable of performing first aid techniques such as CPR on the floor, placing casualties in the recovery position, and managing bleeding and injuries.

Language Proficiency:

  • A good understanding of English (reading, writing, speaking) is required to follow instructions, complete written assessments, and communicate effectively in emergency situations.

No Prior Qualifications Required:

While not mandatory, it is recommended that learners have completed a Level 2 First Aid qualification or have some basic first aid awareness.

  •  All Modules within this qualification are assessed internally by the approved training Centre and externally verified by BURRAQ UK. The program uses a criterion-referenced assessment approach to ensure that learners successfully meet all required learning outcomes.
  • A Pass in any unit is granted only when the learner submits valid, reliable, and authentic evidence that demonstrates achievement of the assessment criteria. The Assessor is responsible for reviewing this evidence and confirming that the learner has attained the expected standard.
